description=FS2002 Aircraft by Jordan Moore\n\nOne of the most recognized helicopters in the history  of rotoray aviation. Mostly due to its prominant role in the Vietnam War and extensive post-war commercial use.  The Huey was one of the first light helicopters able to carry significant internal payloads due to its unique cabin design and over-head mounted gas-turbine power plant.The first Huey flew in service in June, 1959, and went overseas in 1960. There were nine major variants of the UH-1 over the years of production. The differences between the D model and the H model is the use of the Lycoming T-53-L-13 powerplant and the placement of a pitot tube and blade antenna on the cabin roof. The change of engine was prompted by difficulty in hovering in high temperatures due to inadequate power.
